then put a decent cam heads and intake on the 302 you build..have all supporting mods and fuel system and add 6-8 pounds of boost and a decent tune and you'll be good to go.....PRO50SC ON A COMPLETELY stock motor except for a few bolt ons put down 370 rwhp on 12 psi and a good tune and he has 160k on the motor and still goin' strong
Well let me add that I want to use brand new parts. I dont want a motor with 160k on it and have it die on me out of no where. Unless using a brand new block isnt recommended?

you don't need a brand new block....a seasoned block is just fine..meaning one that has been tanked, checked for cracks and bored and honed = 306 = just as good and will last long...rebuild what you got that is of course unless money is of no concern
what year car are we working with??? as for the aod to t-5 swap.....you'll need a manual crossmember, clutch pedal set up t-5 tranny and bellhousing, flywheel, clutch kit, clutch cable....and I believe swap in a ecm for a 5 speed......as for the build I'd have at least 5000.00 to work with.....to convert it to a 5.0 you really need a donor car if going efi.....will it be carbed?? or efi??.....carbed would be quicker and cheaper and no ecm at all is needed
5000. to start....without sc....you'll need to round up all conversio parts like emissons components if you have to pass smog..efi wire harness, rear end..cause 4 cyl is smaller and it's no fun doing one wheel peel!!!....all t-5 conversion parts.....ecm.....all throttle linkage and fuel line hook ups and pump for efi...basically if you don't have a donor car and you have to round up all necessary parts..it'll cost you more to convert it then is would be to buy one already done.....if your willing to spend 5000..go buy a 5.0..at that price you can buy a decent one....the 92 in my sig was a 4cyl conversion and I had a 85 gt as a donor car and one I was done selling parts off it and converting my total investment into the project was 315.00....if you can keep your cost low like that then the conversion is worth it
