Need help with aod trans

I have a 89 lx sport with a aod trans and i have lost overdrive. What could cause this and what would be the fix other then a rebuild?

fix = rebuild..aod's had a high faliure rate of the overdrive band going out....no two ways around it!! pull it and rebuild it or buy a performance rebuilt one

what does it feel like when the od on the aod is slippig and going out?? cause i think this may of happened to me[:@]

Mine didnt slip it just flat out stopped working.

it would be like you were shifting into neutral while driving then back in gear...it wanders around..looking for 4th, then downshifts back to 3rd...over and over and over and over and over and over and over (get the point ?) and over and over and over and over

cheapest fix ? t5 swap (and you'll be faster in the 1/4 by about 5-10 cars)
best fix if you can't shift by yourself ? a new lentech aod
next better fix ? sell the car and buya new one

sound harsh ??? i been there 4x b4 , i know
