cobra clutches are known to have a hard pedal, try a MM stock cable and see if it gets easier

If everything was installed properly it should work just fine. I wouldn't exactly consider the King Cobra clutch "high performance." It's a very common stock replacement.

if your clutch cable feels notchy and or binds while pushing it in then the cable may have rubbed through the casing and is catching on the inside due to a frayed cable inside the casing...that's of course if it's not a new cable.......and the guy at that shop is full of bulls snot!!! I gotta king cobra clutch and it has no bearing on the pedal stiffness at all....it's not all that bad

I have a Spec stage 1 in my 93 Cobra. My pedal is as hard as holding 100 pounds in the air constantly. But that clutch locks up awsome. The pedal isset at the top of my petal when I adjustthe cable which is adjustable. I have a 1/2 inch of cable pull down underneath the car to know my clutch is adjusted to the proper adjustment. If you do not have a adjustable clutch, you can buy an adjustable cableANYWHERE. 50resto.com is a good place to pick up Mustang parts. If you are handy enough, get the double or triple cable turnbuckle.

As far as the shop, scrrm them. The tranny shops specialize in ALL transmissions. Go to a specialty shop or find a local gear head that could help you!

My bet is its the cable....people dont always replace it when they do a clutch....its cheap insurance.....if its sometimes hard and sometimes not...its the cable...the pressure plate doesnt fluctuate....its your cable binding or....get one from ford....not adjustable just swap it out...should be all good

My cobra clutch is way harder to push down than the stock clutch...

I bet that plastic qaudrant under the dash cant handle the extra pedal effort..you might need a new alum quadrant and one of those firewall adjusters.

I havent had any trouble with my king cobra clutch but i put the firewall adjuster and the alum quadrant on it at the same time becuase I read in here that with the performance clutches that the plastic quadrant will break...
