I've looked through the search and all but did not find an answer or relevant question.
What Transmission fluid do you guys recommend for a AOD transmission?
It has a shift kit and a 2400 stall converter.

Dexron II ATF is the mfg recommended type. I use it and have had no problems.

if you use a synthetic which you should, use royal purple or amsoil as best choice, or mobil 1 after that

they just say "synthetic atf"

dont know how good the royal purple is but im getting ready to swap my transmission with a beefed up AOD and thats what im going to use

dextron III/mercon will be fine.....actually since that patten doesn't exist anymore the bottles now say just "ATF" and in a little box it is written...for vehicles that require dextron III / mercon

i filled mine up with amsoil. all bout $100 worth and then blew my trans like <2000 later. but it seemed to work fine before that

Ive got royal purple rollin through mine, shift are smoooooth.

i always used dexy mercy tre' in everything, but went with B&M synthetic trick shift this time in my built C4. can't say i've had any problems with it, also can't say its the best out there. i just know it works[8D]
