ive taken her to 140 before, it vibrates really bad and is pretty scary... pointless for mustangs to be topend cars, their built for drag racing...

I think in some places you can be pegged for "excessive Acceleration". Seen it on a violations list before, so I figure it means what it says.

As far as the speed thing, how often are you going over 100? How often are you going UNDER 100? You'll get alot more chances, safe or not, to "feel" the car if its built for acc not top speed.

I live out in the middle of no where with alot of dirt roads and some paved roads and the cops, when they decide to patrol the road, won't even look at ya twice when you're doin over 85. This isn't giving me an excuse to speed I'm just sayin. We've also got two really nice oval tracks here which I think would be fun to take it on. Plus, how many mustangs do you see that are built for top end? It was just a thought and I thought it'd be pretty cool. What if I wanted to build a car like the enzo? I know I may sound stupid but like I said I'm just tryin to get ideas...

i dont care how reliable the 5.0 is, it wont last very long if you keep it at redline all the time. you need to dump some serious cash to make your car a topend racer.

Yah, you can safely accelerate a whole lot more during a day than high end. First of all, a lot of these older cars are not really aerodynamic enough to reach their potential anyhow, it CAN become unstable, and if you get caught doing 150mph you'll get into a lot more trouble than if you get caught accelerating hard at a stop light.

But then again, you'd probably be the type that would just keep running if you see the police lights and is probably confident that you will never be caught, so I guess none of this would affect your decision at all, I think you already made your decision, lol.

Quite contrary. My 5.0 is a lot faster than any of the local police cruisers, yet I haven't ever considered running. I got a negligent driving ticket for spinning the tires while doing very close to the 25mph speed limit. All of the cops were standing around outside their cars, and I was a block away from the freeway onramp. Had I been the type, I could have easily taken the right turn and jetted down a couple of exits on the freeway and dropped it back into my storage unit, but instead I sat at the light waiting for them to show up, and when the light turned green I pulled into the first driveway for them. I got the ticket dismissed, but either way it should show you what type I am.

And the stretch of road that I do my high speed testing on is a straight stretch slight decline then slight incline for about a mile and a quarter - excellent visability, no hiding spots, and when there's no traffic I'll gun it and slow back down before cresting the hill. The only person I'm endangering is myself. There are no innocent motorists about, the police aren't endangered by pursuing me, and there are no innocents put in danger by the police. There's a lot of stuff I want to stay alive for, but if I die tomorrow I won't know the difference.

well i wouldnt want my car doing 120mph @ 3000rpms, but that could just be me.... thats why i went with 373's.... and as for running from cops, only time i would ever run from a cop is if i know for sure he didnt get a look at my license plate.. other than that, might as well pull over, but if he had no time to see the plates, i'd be dumping the clutch in every gear[sm=lol.gif]

stangs arent just for drag racing. they can be on topend with no problem. they auto cross stangs, they topend stangs and they drag stangs, some cruise them. broaden your views
