TORQUE BOX
My torque box is busted do you think it'll be safe to weld it together or should I put some of these on.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979-...QQcmdZViewItem

RE: TORQUE BOX
Are the uppers or lowers ripped? The uppers can throw the rear axle geometry off if torn too badly and will require a lot of work by someone who knows what they are doing for the axle to sit right. I just had the lowerBattle Box kit installed and that fixed my torn lowers. IMO, I would say yes, get the kit.

I wouldn't screw with that adjustable mess though... I simply don't trust them and most guys will opt for adjustable links. Personally... I'd smack 'em back into shape with a BFH, weld 'em up, and install normal battle box kits.
I just got this set:

and assuming they fit the car alright, I'm happy with the quality. Nice penatration on the welds, good cuts (I'll almost promise they were made on a turret press, aka CNC press akin to a water jet), and generally good quality. Counting my time, I couldn't have made them for less than $50, and I have access to a 30 ton turret press and tig welders.
