Default Running Too Rich???

I make it a habit to search the forums before I posting questions and as I read the posts/problems/solutions the phrase "running too rich" comes up quite a few times. From the posts I understand that running rich can cause the vehicle to run pretty bad. So My question is:

What does it mean to run too rich?

when the fuel to air ratio is perfect it'll be 14.7 to 1 running to rich and you'll have more gas being dumped into the engine and not enough air mixed with it = crappy fuel economy and soot on the plugs if excessive

Great. So how would that be solved? I haven't ran my GT long enough to know if it's running too rich, but if it were, what are some of the things I would look for, or change to correct it?

The first thing you should do, is check what the system is interpreting in terms of A/F run a DIY KOEO/KOER/Cylinder Balance Self-Test Procedure and check if you have "rich condition" codes showing (42/92).

Other things to check would be the fuel pressure regulator for leaking and that you have vacuum to the regulator.
