Default Headers for a 347?

What size of headers should i get for around a 400rwhp 347? It has Trickflow 192cc high port heads, will the headers interfere with anything because of a diff. sized head?

A good 1.75" header will be a good place to start.

302 = 1 5/8 LT's
347 with nice High Ports = 1 3/4 LT's

Get you some nice BBK 1 3/4 LT's
Ceramic coated unless you like your feet hot and sweaty too.

Okay guys...

7.7% difference between a 1.625" header and a 1.75" header.

15% difference in cubic inches between a 302 CI and 347 CI engines.

Hundreds of people run 302s with 1.625" headers and do great.

So increase the cubes even more than the outside measured diameter of the headers have changed.

Technically, the 1.875" header is 15% larger than the 1.625" header.

Hmmm....

honestly!!!! my 347 will do just fine with the 1 5/8.........been there done that....bigger isn't always better..when it come to exhaust no matter what your mathmatical equations may suggest........real world experience often defies what the book states....either way uses what you like I've seen 347 with both ways and perform well....it'll really boil down to mild or wild build vs your actual need
