You can save money by getting gt40x's which are only a grand and then save weight with the fact that there aluminum. Or just spend another 100 bucks and get a pair of tw's. Either would be better in my opinion since there proven performers.

i know you can get some patriot heads for like 850 but yea get them drilled and do some mild port work they will work just fine they are decent for a low budget engine. ive seen pretty good #'s outta them
patriot heads are junk. they have a lot of casting problems. they almost need machine work out of the box. look for a real techy site and you will see what i mean

find a thread by ed curtis and you will see exactly why they are junk out of the box
Ditto...I just bought a set of patriot heads and had to spend about $150 cleaning up their crappy work before they were suitable to bolt on. Don't buy 'em they are pieces of ****. Buy a set of used afr's or trick flows or whatever. Don't buy the patriots

I have a 93 mustang gt. I put some gt40 heads on it,24lb injectors,73 c&l maf and also 65 tb. After installing all the goodies i took the stang down the road to tune it. Now what happen i can't explain but i will say this i got my heads from the junkyard and didn't get any work done to them. While driving the car i heard a noise under the hood i didn't no what is was until i decided to turn the car around and thats when my problems start. The car actually turn off and then would not start backup. When lifting up the hood we realized that the noise we heard earlier was the pvc valve blowing out the intake. So i ended up calling a tow service. When i got the car back home i check my gas psi and check to see if the plugs were firing. I had gas but not any fire so then i checked the coil wire and noticed i had no spark. I replaced the coiland now all plugs were firing. Still the car would start i then removed the spark plugs individually and checked compression. My compression was down very low i could only get around 60 on compression. I then started to breakdown the motor and to check what was wrong. Now things from here have me puzzled when i removed the the heads and check the exhaust and intake valves all of them were leaking. I check them in the field by pouring gas in the ports on both sides. So then i knew how i had lost compression. But i don't understand because the car was running fine. Now what i would like to know is what caused so much psi that it would make my valves to leak alittle? My thinking is that my motor had so much psi in it that it actually made my valves not close and caused psi to come threw my intake and blow the pvc. Please give me your thoughts. I called the machinist and he said no valves were bent just leaking. Please tell me what you think that happened.
