air silencer question

i was lookin to take out my air silencer on my 93 5.0 so i took the filter and its housing out yet there was no rubber piece like everyone said there'd be, is it already taken out or am i lookin to take out the plastic piece on the inside of the fender?

the plastic piece that feeds the airbox from inside the fender area is the air silencer that everyone is talking about. it is pretty restrictive.
