Default h/c/i problem

well i installed my h/c/i gt40's b-303 and cobra intake on a 95 GT and the car runs like crap!!! it will idle great but when i step on it it feels like it sputters and wont go any where. My timing is at 10 deg btc. One thing i noticed I pulled the plugs and there all black= to rich but why? before with the vac on it had 32 now its at 38 and 40 with the vac off. Any ideas?

That kind of work is going to require a tune to run optimal, your car doesn't know what to think right now...

An aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and a timing light would do the trick, not the best tune but it'll work.

You should be able to get it to run somewhat decent, double check your timing. It's easy for the distributor to be off a tooth. The idle may not be great with that cam pre-tune but it should run decent.

Start gathering the information on what could be causing the problem...... DIY KOEO/KOER/Cylinder Balance Self-Test ....

check your firing order make sure it is correct...also make sure your balancer has not spun on the rubber at all I had that happen and when I lined up the two dots on the timing gears after cam install it looked great..but upon assembley of timing cover and balancer and pointer the pointer didn't line up on zero......I didn't think much of it and continued...well it ran like crap until I advanced the timing to adout 17 degrees according to the balancer which in all reality was about 10 degrees cause the balancer had spun almost 7-8 degrees off original....anyway just a thought

ill check that out because now that you say that it seems that the more timing i give it the better it runs but i didnt want to advance it to much.
