I was looking at the alternator and on the side there's writing "Bat" and "SFP" (I think). Two prongs are for the battery and one is for "SFP". Do I connect the two wires to the two battery prongs? Or one to the battery and one on the sfp?

I'm assuming the electrical connector for the voltage regulator is broken and those are the wires for it, is this correct? What year is the car?

Hey PRO, thanks for responding.

It's a 1991 GT. There is a connector with a clip that was clipped onto the alternator. Then there are these 2 wires (1 black and 1 blue/red). The connector for these have 3 prongs. I'm not sure which of the 2 prongs to connect the wires.

Now that I think about it, you may be right. How many connections shout go into a stock Alt?

easiest thing to do is look for a harness at 50resto.com cause it looks as if your harness has been cut and had those cheap crimp on connectors added[&:]

Do you guys understand that there are two connectors on the alternator right? See the two squares in the pic below. Are you telling me that there should be 2 "plugs" for these? I have one connector connected (that's the top one in the pic) and then these two wires for the other one.

Man this really shouldn't be that difficult. Perhaps a pic of yours would help me to understand what I need.

Yes, there are 2 conectors and yes, the link you posted is the one you need. The 2 wires that have the spade connectors on them are the power wires for the alt and should be the same color.

So there's no way of knowing which wires to plug where? I MUST check the wire harness?
