I've been planning on getting the steeda #19 cam because you have all said such great things about it but I was just listening to exhaust clips on youtube and I heard a few B and E cams that sound amazing in my opinion. I believe the steeda cam out does the abc cams a little bit performance wise but am I going to get the lope I want???

mjr46 you are exactly correct, but a friend of mine used a Trick Flow stage 1 in his 94 GT and the ecm put up some resistance but finally calmed down and worked. It sounded good and ran very well without a custom chip.. He had a standard bore 302 with Fox Lake ported GT40Ps, Trick Flow cam, a Trick Flow street intake, 125 Zex nitrous kit,4.10 gear, and a C4 with a custom converter and ran 12.00s all day long on drag radials in a 3580 pound with drivercar.

Here is something I'll never understand....... a MAF "load based" OBD-I EEC more finicky than speed density system?..... from what I've read so far.....
EEC-IV SD system OTS cam alternatives = http://www.50tech.com/files/sd_cams_137.gif
EEC-IV MAF GUFB OTS cam alternatives = Any OTS cam
EEC-IV MAF CBAZA OTS cam alternatives = Steeda #19
The question is WHY?......
I've installed B, E, Stg1 and other OTS cams in SN95s w/out any tuning devices and are still waiting for a comeback. It's just a matter of working all the details (not cam related)....... I've worked driveability complains in cammed SN95 that were NOT related to the camshaft, the owner simply neglected fixing those other failures b/c "it shouldn't have an effect"....... how wrong of an assumption...... Don't limit cam selection for the SN95s due to this.... what's the word?........ myth. Just a thought.

The "lope" depends on so many factors flying high.
Just because an engine has the same camshaft as another does not mean it is going to sound the same.
Most any OTS camshaft is going to "lope" somewhat, but one should realize that this is not at all indicative of performance
Just some of the factors: idle speed, type/brand/style of exhaust, heads being used, intake being used, tune, et al.

lope is a result of valve timing overlap between the intake vs the exhaust valve.......to answer your question...IMO..having heard many cars with B and E cams..they do not have a very noticeable lope..the e sounds okay but the f has a very noticable lope
