Hey, I was wondering...

Are MSD Ignition boxes supposed to actually make noise? Mine makes a annoying winding high pitch sound, and the sound even gets to a higher pitch as I hit the gas.

I don't think it's normal, but then again, I'm not sure..

Anyone know for a fact weather it's actually supposed to make a noise?

If not, then obviously it's bad and my problems will be fixed, because no one seems to know what exactly is wrong with my car.

Do you have an MSD coil? If so, you sure it's the box and not the coil. Haven't heard of the boxes making noise. But the coils, oh yeah!!! My 6al makes no noise.

Well, the box is in my car, under the seat, but I took it out from under there and it's loud. lol.

Did you try calling MSD tech support or checking MSD's web site? There is a good question and answer section and there are forums too on thier site.

That kind of sounds like the same problem..

What happends with my car is it feels as someone is shutting my car off, then turning it back on and flooring the gas for fun, over and over.

i have a bunch of MSD electronics in my car, and they are all quiet, yours may be damaged, or are you using solid core plug wires?

When you say quiet, do you mean where you don't hear any noise at all?

Mine has a real loud buzzing noise, and get's louder as you rev the motor.
