Decisions HELP Windsor or Boss 302
Hello from Hawaii. I Have a 93 LX Hatch and I want to put in a new motor that will be able to produce around 400 hp reliably. I can not seem to make up my mind as to wich block to start with. I am leaning towards the dart windsor but I am not sure if all of the same components will work with the windsor or if there will be any necessary mods or kits to make the windsor fit. I am thinking about getting one of the tric k flow kits (heads, intake, cam timing Chain) wich one would be the best for a windsor. I want to keep the car as civilized as possible when all is said and done (A.C. Idle at stop lights Etc.).
I have a proffesional who is going to put it all together for me I just want to have the right combo. Also internals (oh yeah) theres so many out there any good recomendations on cranks , rods, pistons etc.. I will definately be springing for a new T-56 as well. I have been waiting for a long time to build this car any help would be greatly appreciated.javascript:void(AddText(''))

well if it's the standard trick flow kit everyone buys...you'll make maybe 280 -290 @ rear wheels with a good dyno tune and you won't need a dart or boss block for that or 400 hp..but the dart and boss block come unfinished and need alot of machine work and checks to be ready for bolt in

Im pretty set on putting in a new block thats a little beefier to be able to handle a super charger. the block thats in the car now is about due for an over haul. Figured wile im at it mite as well build something thats going to handle the abuse a little longer. would I be better of buying an assembled short block?

it all depends on what you want the cars final rwhp to be?? if you want it at 400 with the supercharger......heck that'll be easy.....stock block will be finebut if your future goals are 550 hp and above with a supercharger..I'd up the block to a Boss block at least..that way you'll have a safe buffer of extra hp potential to work with

I think thats what Im leaning towards. Right now im telling my self that 400 is perfect, but in the back of my head I know Ill want more down the road.
The boss 302 will be able to make 400 easily though W/spr chrgr?
Man this sight is awesome!
