Every time i turn on my car for some weird reason the Car accelerates itself when i turn it on. I accelerates it self to 5500rpm and it ill maby accelerate more i just turn it off. It never did that on me untill i pulled out the engine because i was going to do a transmision swap. My car is a 93 5.0 lx and ive been trying to fix it for a week and i have no clue what it is???????????

Why'd you pull out your engine to do a tranny swap? Are you sure that your engine is actually revving to that rpm or is it your tachometer saying that when you start your car?

some one missed some sensor... or uh... the throttle body

The throttle would have to be wide open for that to happen. Check the linkage.

i 3rd that statement your throttle linkage or cable is bound up somewhere i had the same problem wiht a honda once

you need to check the linkage and see if it's hanging up or binding due to misrouting

or check the tps i know mine did that and it was reading wide open even though it was completely shut. i was reading like 3.8v
