Whats the deal with buying maf? wouldnt it be the same as buying a metal pipe thats 75mm and mount your stock electronics in? isnt that the same. Because I have stock injectors and I want a 76mm MAF, what wouldnt it be the same If i went to a hardware store and bought a pipe and mounted my electronics in it? there wouldnt be a as the stock is 55mm. or am I missing something that a aftermarket one has?

not even close. there is a metering tube inside the maf. thats what allows a certain amount of air to pass the electronics and thats what tells the computer how much fuel to run. if you went to the hardware store and slapped on the electronics your car will never run

i have a 76mm maf with my 70mm tb but the 73mm c&l will work too. as long as the maf is larger then the tb it will be fine

Wow...those are small numbers. So I guess is stands to reason that it' stupid to upgrade to a larger TB without doing the MAM. Thanks for the info.
