Back to EFI
Hello, I bought a 91 5.0L that was converted to a carb setup. I was considering putting it back to EFI. I have read the tech article on conversion to carb and it looksvery expense and could be a big hassel to put it back. I have a 67 coupe I was thinking of putting it in to use as a daily driver and wanted the fuel injection for driveability. Any thoughts on this, thanks.

RE: Back to EFI
Are you trying to convert your '67 to EFI? If so, it is not too difficult, and if you stick close to a stock build, is not too expensive. Look at JamesW's website for a pretty detailed writeup.

If you're trying to make the job easier, the fordfuelinjection.com harness and ronmorrisperformance.com fuel system make it a breeze.
Good luck!

RE: Back to EFI
Carburetors have good drivability as well if you use a good one and the car is tuned properly. If drivability is your only concern then there's no need to go to EFI, and it'll save you a ton of money. If you don't know how to tune a carb precisely, and/or want better mileage then yeah, EFI. Try scavenging a factory system from a 5.0 out of a junkyard car, prolly be the cheapest way.

RE: Back to EFI
Yes i was thinking of converting my 67 to EFI. I still have a way to go yet before I get to the engine but I have a 5.0L and an old 351. The 5.0 runs and I need to rebuild the 351 so once I get the front suspension, engine bay and cowel done I may drop in the 5.0. Thanks for all the information,I didn't even think of going to a junk yard. thanks again.

RE: Back to EFI
well if the wiring harness was left intact..it'll make life easier to swap back...but if not......[:@]..and you'll need to convert the fuel system back to efi capabilities and need an intak throttle body, mass air meter..throttle linkage..ect.ect......it could be a fairly expensive task
