Ok guys, I have been reading these forums for about a year now. Sooo much info. So i got a new prodject since i sold my Twin Turbo Hatch. I have always wanted a notch and i just got a 90. There is no motor or trans in the car. There was a pretty bad hack job done to the wiring harness due to the last guy was going to go back with out it. I have all of it and can tell where most of it has been cut so i just have been trying to put it all back together. I have one wire that all i know to do is try to explain it and see if anyone knows where it should go. The two plugs on the alternator, each has 3 wires coning from them. The small one of the two has a green wire with what looks like a purple stripe on it. It goes back to a plug that feeds back into the main harness in the car. From the wiring digrams i have it looks like the keyed power for the regulator. Also the same plug it goes to there is another wire on that plug. It is Brown with a yellow stripe on each side. This wire has been cut. It looks to big to have been just a ground that someone has cut. Does any one have any idea where this needs to go to?

sounds like you had an alternator upgrade done.

why is that? This really looks like a factory wire.

i think the three wires i have going to my altnator are the main power one and a yellow and a green on the bottom.

yes sir. that green wire goes back into the cluster inside. it is the check engine light for the charging system. but before it goes back through the fire wall it has a plug. also in the pluge with it is this brown wire with the yellow stripe. it you could follow the green wire, up the the brake booster area there it plugs in, the brown wire is in the same plug, follow it and i need to know where it goes. i cant seem to find it in any wiring digram. it goes somewhere under the hood.
