RE: exhaust cutouts, pros and cons
You can burn up your exhaust valves and it will sound terrible, you can run a longtube open but with shorties i wouldnt have it run open at least until after the h pipe and either way id still run it into a muffler and then dump it for the sound.

well good luck trying to get the cut outs to fit right after them. unless you meant once it clears the firewall, flattens out and starts to face rearward. people seem to hate them and state that they will burn up your valves in not time, yet i cant remember the last time somebody said they actually burnt up their valves from running cutouts. one thing i could see being a problem is if it was really cold out and you had the motor runnin all nice and hot from a beat run then shut it off, left the cut outs open, and let the cold air/moisture hit the valves. other than those cons you also have the cost depending on the type you get. personally i would only go with electric cut outs where would you plan on placing them?

if i ever get longtubes, im gonna get two electronic cutouts installed at the end of the longtubes...granted i will have an o/r mid, and slp catback...but im sure it will still be louder

i would like the extra power from my 95 stang gt, any reason i shouldnt have some exhaust cutouts right after my new shorty headers?
