Default winding noise

after the car warms up is when i begin to hear it more than ever but if i get on it pretty hard petal down or past about 3500rpms i hear a very loud winding noise or something like air blowing out alot and continues 2-3 seconds after i let off the gas. also this morning on my way to work in second gear i went to get on it and it like cut out and didnt supply any power and as soon as i let off and got back on it, it was just fine again...could this be related?

any ideas? thanks

intermitent prob is like looking for a needle in a hay stack...as for the air noise...check all your air injection components and tubes leading to air pump and to back of heads and down to the cats....and check power steering fluid level

check to see if your heater controls work, you may have a vacuum line off causing the air noise you are hearing, and a vacuum leak will cause issues too.

yeah i plan on going to the track when it reopens during the summer. but back to the problem,i was talking to a guy at the local mustang shop around here and he said it could be that my fuel filter is old and i wouldnt be getting enough fuel? would that cause it to just lose all power?
