Default Dipstick Problem

Hey guys i was checking my oil yesterday and when i went to pull the dipstick out the entire tube came with it. I've been looking for the dipstick tub hole but i cant seem to find it. Any detailed directions as to where it is would be most appreciated. I have an 84 mustang gt. thanks.

towards the middle of the block directly above the oil pan rail in the block is the hole..put some silicone aroung the tube at the base when reinstalling and there should be a holder fastened to the manifold to keep that from happening..that is of course someone hasn't removed it cause they installed headers

I'm still trying to figure out how to weave my dipstick tube through the headers to access the oil pan.

Since I got my 347 built, it's been plugged.

I bought the chrome dipstick and tube setup that is for sale at advance autoparts... its actually for a front sump style motor, but all you have to do is cut it short, slide the dipstick in, and mark it at the full line...
