+1 on getting the headers, and the gears arnt that bad as they said before it all depend on what the right foot is doing, and its always good to know that you have the gears there incase you fell like punching it, i got the 3.73s and love them sofar and have not really noticed a big difference in gas milage.
Just my 2 cents

Walk into your bathroom and close the door. Theres your 2.73's. Turn on the light switch, theres your 3.73. Night and day basically. Or at least it was for me going from 2.73's to 4.10's.

LOL, yeah, 2.73-3.73 is huge. Another thing to consider, is what you wanna do with the engine. The more power the engine puts out, the less traction you'll have, especially with a higher gear. Turbos and screw/roots blowers generally require taller gears to keep the tires planted. Also big n/a power can make it hard to keep the tires planted as well. Running DR's helps, but if you plan on staying with street rubber, then you may want to not go with too low a gear depending on what you want to do.

well i dont know my numbers right now, but i would guess 250hp and 315ft lbs. MAX right now (5,000+ft elevation is a BITCH!)
all power adder's will be very mild for the time being, for atleast a year untill i get some bills payed.

if 2.73-3.73 is a HUGE jump, considering my mod's, would it just be ok to do 4.10's, and then once i get more power go down to 3.73's?
that way my car "feels" more powerful?

how much of a difference is gas mileage from 3.73's to 4.10's ( IF i stay off the throtte )

(well on more thought, i might just go to 3.73's to start with, sence i just got this car, and it would be nice to be able to drive it in the rain!)

ok do this.....drive your car at about 2500 rpm as it sits and punch it in that gear
then use the same gear and punch it at about 1000-1200 more rpms thats what 4.10's will feel like, 3.73's will be about 200 rpms less, and although it will not affect mileage really, you will notice the lack of performance. 4.10's are the best hands down, unless you expect to make very big boost or a twin turbo

every gearset you step up will add about 200-250 rpms at any given speed to get in you the powerband quicker so thats basically it.

i will never use 3.73's ever again, yes they are better than stock , but they are still lacking. under 350-400 hp will probably not be able to yank tires on 3.73's and slicks.... a stock 5.0 w/ 4.10's and a bit of suspension will though. that little diff more is actually big. mileage ??? i'd say at most 1/4 -1/2 mpg from 3.73 to 4.10

from 2.73 to 4.10 , about 2-3 total mpg less, but you can however get better in the city since you'll make use of 5th all the time even at about 40 mph (aod cars should not be in od in the city so it doesn't apply)

and you can also eliminate the drop on the freeway if your willing to slow it down. cruising at the same rpm as you used to will get you the same mpg (at about 10-15 mph slower roughly)

DON'T BE SKERRED 4.10's rule !!!!!
