Default Gasket question

Why is it that people order different gaskets then what originaly came with the product? ex header gaskets. The reason i ask is becuase im going to be replacing myvalve covergasket when i do my rockers and i was woundering if i should order some for when i do my header istall.

also can someone post a link for which head gaskets i will need for stock heads, i was looking on summit and there are so many different specs.

They think its cheaper or better. It usually isnt. The only time you need aftermarket gaskets is if you have O-ringed heads or oversize exhaust/intake ports.

stella- for example the gaskets that come with the bbk headers are total crap and the holes dont line up. ive always had great luck with felpro. excellent quality materials and tooling they use. just get the felpro complete gasket kit from summit for around 95 bucks, then youll have every gasket you need and theyre all great quality. you dont want to change headgaskets, have them blow, only to put on the gaskets you should have used in the first place, you know?

theyre there, just keep looking. they DO NOT make a set for the cobra because the gaskets are the same, only one is different and thats the upper to lower intake mani gasket. when i called summit to order mine, they found the part number for me, and i had them at my door in 18 hours beleive it or not. they are fast!
