how many ft lbs should it take to turn a motor with the heads on and plugs out? so its not making compreshion but it is lifing the valve springs like i said before the motor is stock so it dose not have a very tough spring, it takes 55-56 ft lbs in one spot, and the rest of the way around it takes like 40-45 ft lb?

that doesnt sound too good dude... takes 10 more ftlbs to turn it, in about how much angle travel does it do this? it should take the same amount of torque to rotate the assembly at any point in the cranking. you should pull the engine and inspect the rotating assembly.

im going to pull the motor as soon as i get a chance it is raning right now, i have everything unhooked and redy to go, it will go about 3/4th around untill i get the 55-56 ft lb reading on my tq wrench, the motor in my 88gt took 7ft lb to turn the short block that is why i am worried, their is a major diff between the two. the only other thing im moving with this is the valve springs and that shouldent make that much diff should it?

Default Update: Vibration I need some help

the keyway on the dampner is like 3/4 inch long, and the bearings main and rod bearing were chafed/jumped so the crank was hooping/wobbling, and some of the main caps were only 50-65 ft lbs and their supposed to be 80-85, talk about somthing flying apart. lol
