well for one...ditch the bbk ssi thought= intake sucks as well as it's ugly....and as for the bottom end....you'll need to notch the pistons to clear the 2.02 valves the 185's have and as for a cam a comp 270 hr is a decent ots cam or a tfs stage 1 ots cam..or custom cam for matched combo

+1 onditchingBBk intake. Find yourselfa nice tubular GT40 intake. If I remember correctly they can handle about 400-450hp without choking the engine. Alot of people use the recommend the Trick Flow intakes but the GT 40 looks the best in my opinion. I would get a Trick Flow stage 2 if it was me but like Mjr said you can also get a custom grind for your setup.

Tubular gt40 definitly looks the best and is plenty for a 302, Steeda 18 with 1.7's would be a good choice.

The BBK intake will be just fine.

Get a custom camshaft from Ed Curtis @ www.flowtechinduction.com. He sells the AFRs you are talking about and can get you the CORRECT springs to go with the camshaft.

$325 for better performance and driveability

I helped a guy put AFR 185s on a stock short block with a Trick Flow stage 1 cam and it cleared. I can't remember exactly but the intake wasat the limitwhen we clayed the pistons but it cleared.
