Blowed up tranny
Well guys, that topic i posted about my tranny whining was obviously a bad thing that it was doing that. I was going down the highway with my cruise set on 80 and my tranny locked up, spun me around and caught on fire. I am not very happy right now. Cost me $125 to have it towed back to the tranny place that replaced my 5th gear 2 days before. They took it out and found out the main bearing (in the front i think) froze up and the input shaft and counter shaft broke. My new 5th gear also has no teeth on it now and whatever gear is up front grinded a perfectly rectangular hole thru the tranny case, so it is dead. Is there a good place to get a world class tranny fairly cheap? I want a new one. Or if anyone else has any suggestions or anything please tell me. Thanks.

For pics click the image upload botton, its the next to last one on the right of your reply screen. As for the tranny, you can get a world class T5 pretty cheap, especially used on ebay. If you insist on a new one, I wouldnt spend that much money on a T5, save up a few hundred dollars more and get a Tremec. They're sold all kinds of places, look in a mustang mag, most of those sellers sell tranny's. Yea show us some pics of your handy work

Are you making the place that replaced the 5th gear buy you a new tranny? Their the ones that screwed up! I'd say look on ebay, then check google by typing in tremec if you want a new one, they make the best.

I was hoping they were but they're not. I don't even have the money for a world class t5 but I have to do something. I need my car. I think i'm gonna start the "Help Patrick Buy a Tranny Foundation"

Unfortunately, if all the shop did was a gear swap, they have no liability to this, since it wasn't their part that failed.
