Default car dies

hello, i just installed new headers and a starter in an 89 GT and now i cant go more than 5 miles without having the car stall on me. itll be riding fine then it will make a whirring sound for a couple seconds and revs will drop and die. I have no idea what could be causing this and if anyone has an idea it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

maybe a chance of it wanting to vapor lock if under hood temps have gotten hotter with the headers installed

vapor lock on a fi car more so for a carb'ed car..anyway for that to happen to a fuel injected car it'd have to be super hot...that's not your problem so brush it aside...when it won't start..you need to verify if it's got fuel or spark via the proper methoods like have a fuel pressure gauge handy and an inline spark checker..and when it stalls first turn key on and off a few times waiting in between key cycles to see if you can hear the fuel pump run around the rear seat area...it'll make a bzzzzzz noise for a few sec and shut off....but just cause it makes noise doesn't mean it has adequate pressure or flow..so a pressure tester can confirm it's operation 100 percent...as for the spark ..when it stalls hop out and hook the inline checker in and crank it and look for spark...what you wanna do when the prob occurs is narrow it to a system..like fuel or spark...if once the motor cools it'll start again..good possibility it may have a bad tfi module/ bolted to side of distributor

no^^^^^ if the plug gap was smashed flat..car would run rough....gapping a plug is setting the space between the electrode and base where spark arcs to..they have special little tool for this at any parts store..anywhere from .035 to .045I set them on my carbed stang and I believe spec is .054 for the fi stangs..but anyway a prob there would not really cause the car to stall it'll run on 7 cyl..just not well[&:]

alright ill rule the spark plug out then. so if it stalls and starts right back up what should i check? because it has been starting back up lately after a stall. And it makes that weird whirring sound right before it stalls
