How are you guys running stock ignition not detonating while under boost? What are you guys running for boost?

so tell me what detonation and a stock ignition have to do with each other as far as boost goes? Now maybe spark blow out. I have seen as much as 14 psi with our old S/C on some of our old cars it was on 2 diff. cars both ran stock Ford ignition. I just closed up the plug gap to 30 and ran 2 steps colder. worked for me we ran a 10.99.

AEM computer with DIS, it is it's own "ignition box", ultra timing accuracy.



Detonation occurs when the timing is advanced too much in boosted engines.
The stock computer tends to let timing walk around at higher rpms.
If timing drifts higher then you want due to crappy stock computer ........... boom goes the head gasket/engine.

Lots of people blow HG's running on stock computers.
They like to blame the gaskets, when its really the stock computer letting it detonate in the first place.

my spark plugs are gapped to .030 and I am running 8 pounds of boost at the moment
