Cam change help!!!!
Hope this is in the right spot.
Ibought a t-top 83 mustang gt. It has a 86 5.0 in it. The fuel injection has been replaced with a600 carb. I want to change the stock cam to something with a little more "lope". I found a voodoo cam that I think might work. I'm not sure on the valve to piston clearence. The motor has stock heads. Can some on tell me if this cam will work without having to notch the pistons? Here are the cam specs?

RE: Cam change help!!!!
you'll need to clay the pistons and you do know that a 86 motor is a flat top piston engine with no valve reliefs and the stock e6 heads suck and are restrictive and furthermore not sure if the cam you listed is for a roller block if it's not then the cam won't work you selected cause 86 is a roller cam equipped block

RE: Cam change help!!!!
It is a roller cam. I read somewhere about claying the pistons, but cannot find it now. Can someone explain how to do this/ What tool do I use to notch the pistons? Would I be better of just changing the pistons and heads? Thaks for any help.
