AFR heads are of the best quality and engineered I have seen. They cost at the same rate of the Canfield heads, but come with 8mm valves (compared to heavier 11/32" normal), .600" lift springs.

All AFR heads have a FULL CNC chamber and ports. The Canfields (for the same price) just have the cc CNC'd.

Ed Curtis @ www.flowtechinduction.com will sell you the AFR heads with proper EVERYTHING and a custom camshaft to match.

One of the reasons i got the AFRs was so I didn't have to touch them after I got them. The fit and finish of their heads is sick and I love the CNC work.

i got the new edelbrock rpm heads, the 170cc 2.02 intake heads.
polished, assembled, and shipped: $1,282 from jegs.

i have to say that the port holes need some attention on those heads, i looked into getting them ported, from a major porting company, they said those heads are not worth it for the price.
i would go with either cainfields or afr this time around, but get the spring upgrade on the afr heads.

I have heard of (no experience with) AFR having some issues with their rocker studs breaking. Just some food for thought.

Rocker studs are $30. They come with the 3/8" studs, but for $30 you add ARP 7/16".

You WILL NOT break those.

I have never heard of that issue and I am an AFR freak
