Default Pulley Help

hey guys ive searched threads and didnt see anything relating to my problem,but neways i have a 1994 Gt Mustang and im having problems with the powersteering pump/pulley,my problem is that i went to pepboys and bought a PS pump and when i went to install it the first time i notcied that 1 of the plastic tubes on the resivor on the PS pump was going straight down so when u sit it in the bracket u couldent put a hose on it because it was hitting the bottom of the bracket and on the original one it shows the plastic tube going straight out the back..so you can get a hose on it..the only thing that came close was from a 91 thunderbird -.- i dont kno if i should of tried to change the resivor or what " didnt wanna mess seals up?now last but not least seeing i got a PS pump from a thunderbird my pulley seems to stick out to far and does not alighn with any of the pulleys..any help would be greatful =\

Im not no expert but if you dont care how it looks you could try shimming it somehow. Some pics of the problem would be helpful. And if you have the old power sterring pump cross reference the part # with pepboys. If its a OE replacement you bought it should work right.

You can try oing to another parts store also. Pep boys is a cheap parts store and they will try to combine similar parts to lower the cost and make a few more bucks. Try a napa or other parts place and bring your old pump and see if you come up with the same results.

Also sometimes parts get packaged wrong. So it it doesnt look right have them get a second box and open it up and check it.

ok guys i guess il have to go to napa >.< i cant belive its this much trouble for a $%$@@ power steering pump lol neways thanks for the input
