yeah you'd have to change the motor, maybe trans, rear, computer, a lot.
unless you have a 4cyl already and a v8 with a rear/computer it wouldnt be worth it to do.

Most awkward piece to change is the whole axle, you need to yank the engine/tranny/driveshaft and put an 8.8 rear, I think the fuel lines are on the wrong side, the front suspension is lighter the k-member is abit different the harness and computer are different the brakes are different. I'd still jump the hell all over a clean 4 cyl notch if I had the opportunity.

i just got done switchin my mustang from the 2.3 to the 5.0... u need a trans with a bell housing... drive shafts the same.. 4 banger rear end only hold up to 300 hp and they say u cant dump the clutch on it so ur better off goin with the 8.8... same thing with the trans... most 4 come with the world class t-5 which is the best t-5 of those years but the gearing is alot lower and the t-5s that come with the v8s are alot stronger...engine mounts are different because the v8 ones are lower to the ground when the 4 banger ones hold the engine a little higher and the rest depends on if ur going f/i or carb... pm me for any other info and if u need specs, have questionsor need web sites i got alot of them
