Default Freeze plugs?

I need to get the freeze plug by the trans. oilpan area out. I think the only way i can get it out os to remove the trans. Is this a good idea? How hard would it be to take out the transmission? How long would it take??

personally.. I'd pull the motor... so you can get a better angle and straight shot on them.. if your gonna do one.. do all if you pull the motor

Pull the motor? Thats a lot of work. I think if worst comes to worst i'm going to pull out the trans, my trans is jacked up anyway...

have it your way... but either way you look at it if you can get them in it'll be a tight squeeze...... personally I can have the motor up and out in less than 2 1/2 hours and if it's a 5 speed tranny 1 hr.......but the time you'll spend fighting to get the freeze plugs in your way...I could pull the motor and install all freeze plugs and be well on my way to getting it back in while you are still fighting the one freeze plug
