Default timing gear mis-install affetcs?

would a car run at all if the timing gear was installed a tooth off? if so what kind of affects would it have on the way it runs?

It would either advance or retard your cam a few degrees. So it would either shift power slightly up or slightly down the powerband

Make sure your MAF sensor is sitting straight up, not to the side or upside down on your CAI.

is it timing gears or timing chain & gear? it sounds like you have it off a tooth and you will need to take it apart again and retime it.

Being off a tooth will do more than affect the powerband. Most cars will barely run.

Powerband adjustments are from 3 or 5 degrees of timing. Jumping or misaligning the chain/sprocket by an entire tooth would be more like 16 or so degrees, big.
