Default 5.0 questions

just picked up a 94 GT stang. its going to be my DD for a while. was just wanting to know the limits of the 5.0 HO in the 94 gt. What Rpm can you safley spin to(mine is a stick)? how much power can a stock motor take? how much power can the t-5 tranny take? just wanting to know the do's and donts pretty much. my ls1 is my stalled auto dig car, so i was wanting to make the mustang more of a roll car since its a 5 speed. can the stock 5.0 take a healthy shot of spray? perhaps a huge cam and nitrous might be on the list in the distant future, thanks.

yea i have a 94 gt myself, stick too, it can handle about 50-75hp shot of juice, the t-5 is a good solid tranny absically bulletproff, i dump mine quite often, i spin to 5600 rpm, the car makes peak power about 45-4800 rpm's i belive, so its pointless to wind it out to 6200, btu id do it anbyways, adn th e5.0's are some of the best motors out there, they can handle a ton of bolt ons and a cam with minor tuning from a chip..hop that helps.. later

you don't need a huge cam in a 94 but you need to wisely choose a combo for it

+1 these engines do not have forged internals and the 94 and 95 computer needs tuning for many mods. before the cam i suggest better heads,

oh so it was the earlier 87-88 GT's that had the forged 302's? yea i figured id get some better heads maybe the gt40 heads and better intake and cam. how good do the stock intake manifolds flow? what is the average RWHP a NA 302 will make when built right?
