That has nothing to do w/ it. The wire you see is the new 12 volt feed wire to power the alt. You will disconnect the stock feed wire that runs from the solenoid to the back of the alt. Understand?

no honestly you lost me. okay i have a positive from the battery going to the switch then on the other switch terminal i have a wire going to the starter solenoid i get all that but what wire has to be run from the alternator to the switch. i have a factory alternator which has a plug with 3 wires coming out of it and then under that is a single wire that attaches to a male connector on the alternator.

Oh I see. You're still running the factory alt. OK, you'll have to cut the 2 power supply wires to the alt and connect those to the new wire coming from the cut off switch w/ a fuse as illustrated in the diagram.
