A/T Shifter Problem

My shifter dial inmy 95 GT is now off. It will show neutral when in reverse and be on drive when in neutral and D2 when in D. Does anyone know how this happened and how I can get it back into the right spots. Thanks for any help.

the little plastic strip is probably busted.....you'll need to purchase the plastic indicator assembley
