i dont know much, but the right suspention setup and some sticky tires should ger you alot of the way there

Lifting the tires off the ground looks cool but if you're trying to get the fastest et possible you want all the wheels to stay on the ground.

tires are key but suspension helps as does power

no one has metioned gears. you deffinatly need very low gears for a stock stang to lift the tires and one hell of a stall converter.+1 on thesuspension

hella low gears, slicks, suspention, a 6k stall converter, and some power behind it:D

I would lighten the front too. Tublar K-member, tubular a-arms, coil-overs,take off AC, PS, light from wheels, and move battery to the back. Get some 90/10 struts or Strage struts with some rear drag springs. Then get some sticky tires (ET Streets or ET Drags), some 4.10-4.30 gears, and a 125 horse shot of spray. That should get you close.

4.10 gears and slicks will do it on a bone stock car, launch it at 5500, it will yank maybe 2-3"
here is my first wheelie, i used a different approach to it though involving a lot of weight over the rear tires and lettingit roll backwards b4 popping the clutch off the limiter http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78...mp_wheelie.jpg |
