the alphabet cams are quote un quote outdated and alot of better choices out there to max your combos potential out....but I have a f-cam in my 92 with stock ported heads.....mine does okay but a better set of heads would really help my 92's combo out

well the politically correct answer on here is get a custom ground cam taylored to your combo.......a dual pattern cam such as comp xe series are good choices ...like a xe 270 or xe 274....but remember , whatever cam you choose get matching springs for the heads

Comp cams XE series hydraulic rollers. The alphabet cams are ok but with Ford heads they lack on the exhaust side so you need more lift and duration to help with that problem. What are your goals and what are you into, drag racing, hot street, road racing?

Not really much of a problem with AFR's.

The XE270 is a great choice for a DD. I'd call Comp, Crane, Crower,orLunati and tell them what you want to doand they will reccomendwhat will work best for you. They will also be able to tell you what you need to complement your new cam, valve springs, retainers, locks, etc.
