few 347 questions
ive been searching alot and cant really seem to find any answers. ive decided to go with a 347 street fighter coast high kit, flat tops 10-1 compression. i know its wrong but i have no choice but to put my stock heads on it for now, till may when i get vic jrs.im swiching to carb, b/c its cheaper for now.. prob a 750 double pumper with mechanical secondaries that i already have. not sure on an intake yet maybe an rpm air gap? im wondering how it will run with my cam in my sig, and a 150 shot in the 1/8th? i was wanting to put a trick flow stage 2, or 3 in it so its already in there, but i know it still wont breath b/c of the heads. plus if i do that ill have to change springs. i now have the trick flow springs good up to 540 lift. im sure you guysget alot of these questions, but im tired of searching and decided to ask, so looking for good advice i know i can get on here.

RE: few 347 questions
wellright nowmy motor isknocking, and has no oil pressure. so i decided to go 30 over and a 347 stroker with my tax money. now i have a good bottom end to build off of, but not much left.sorry i didnt say that 1st.

RE: few 347 questions
why dont you just keep the top end then? nothing wrong with the injectors or anything right? it will run alot better if you leave it EFI, unless you tune it alot. plus u save on the cost of a lower intake

RE: few 347 questions
ive been thinking about it alot. ive got a carb already. i want to build a motor like my buddies got, 347 (same kit with 10-1 comp, and stock block) but he has vic jr heads, vic jr intake, 850 carb, 456 gears, and a 690 something lift cam not sure of specs. i dont want a cam that big, but not the small 302 cam that i got. i was thinking stage 2 or 3 trick flow, so i have the cam. or just my top end and do the h/c swap at once. he says with stock heads, it will run better with carb and bigger cam, then the stock intake and injectors and cam. has anybody tried this to see?

RE: few 347 questions
well bigger than the cam i got. which is 218 226 500 510 with 284 292 duration. rightnow withoutnitrous, i ran a best of 8.47 at 80 in an eighth. that cam, 1.6 rrs, stockheads, intake, injectors, 4:11 gears, slicks, 5 speed, and a chip. i drove his and went 7.5 driving it easy. coming out at 4000 and shiftin at 7000. what a ride when compared to 8.47!!! he comes out at 7200 and shifts at 8200 and runs 6.80s.

RE: few 347 questions
well already ordered 347. i got it from coast high, $1260 (not shipped yet) with balancer, and buillet steel flywheel balanced at 28. maybe just put what i got on it for now then? i know im not gaining much more than a good solidbottom end. just considering options. at least i can always add h/c/i in the future.

RE: few 347 questions
It should run fine. You already know you wont be getting no where near the potential out of the engine. But at least you know its there when you get the cash to build it right.
