I'm looking for a bulletproof auto tranny for my blown vortech89 GT. ANy suggestions?

Come over here to Iraq with me....I can show you that there is nothing bulletproof! PA Performance Automatics makes a good one. Does it have to be a AOD? Would you condsider a C4 or C5?What about converting over to a Tremec? The automatic allows you to enjoy every shift with the S/C, IMO the AOD will not last long in high power applications. I remember back in the day when Mustangers were putting Chevy TH400's in.

I would check out some C4's. They will run you alot less than a AOD and hold up to more power.

I would say go for a C4 if you are not doing a lot of DD duty and it'sa strip car. The C4's are pretty reasonable pricewise and if for some reason something would happen the trans guys love to work on them since they are a "pretty basic tranny".
