carbs work best on 4-8psi depending on the carb of course. Edelbrock's like 6psi, not sure what holley's prefer.
I doubt that you can use a regulator to choke your stock fuel pump, seems to me that would be asking for a quick pump burnout.
Pushing 37psi through a carb shouldn't destroy it, but you'll end up flooding the holy hell out of it.

To swap over to a carb and its a great idea to you need the intake, carb, and distributor. You can either go with a points setup that i dont recommend or you can use the DURASPARK 2 setup which consists of 4 wires and a small little brain box and youre on your way.

Carbs do offer more tuning capabilities and their cheap to fix, tune, and maintain. Not too mention if tuned right and by right i mean specigically for either performance or economy a carb is comparable to efi.

Go for it a carbed setup rocks!I love carbs and wouldnt have it any other way.

Does it really matter if I've got a stang or not man? I know what I'm talking about and fuel enrichment is fuel enrichment by either EFI or carb, no matter what the motor.
EFI's limitless tuneability, smooth power delivery, and more power/torque makes it a winner in my book. With plug/play technology coming out, and the fact that you can build and tune a standalone for any motor pretty much for under $300 (MegaSquirt).....I really don't see how you can shun EFI over carb.

I think most carbs are happiest between 4 and 6. For whatever reason the guy who built my friend's 318 put an 8psi pump on it and we were having a hard time tuning the carb (edl 600). He told us that all chrysler pumps were high pressure like than and that we'd need a regulator. Sounded fishy to me, especially since I don't have or need a pressure regulator on my 360.

good decision on the carbi love carbs. and he already chose to convert it and he is confident with it so dont give him sh*t. and we have been through this about 10000000000000 times in the past month, so dont even try. do you want to keep egr or not?? holley sells a great street legal carb (the street avenger) and put an edelbrock performer intake on it. if you dont want it go with a demon carb and an edelbrock air gap manifold . get some heads on it and you will be putting down some f*ckin power. im looking into doing the same thing so thanks for posting this . i need toknow the finicky sh*t too.
