well i had the clutch done and the lower intake manifold gasket and the oil pan gasket so all together yeah it cost wuite a bit and i'd hate to have to pay twice for the oil pan to be taken off and put back on but thats what i get for not thinkin of replacing it in the first place.

if you pressure drops that much when its warm chances are its the bearings. its extremley rare that a oil pump goes

no the pressure doesn't drop by much at all, it is at the a in normal then when warm at idle it at the bottom part of the l, the temp guage is at about 3/4 is what i was refering to in my post earlier, I'm thinkin that they didn't change the pick up tube when they replace the oil pan gasket so it may be clogged up or the pump is going, i dont want to even consider it being bearings.

like it or not, the bearings being worn are the main reason the oil pressure drops over time and '88 was a long time ago! LOL
if you pay them to drop the pan, get them to pull a main cap and inspect the bearings also, bet they will tell you they are worn out!

what do you think it would cost to replace/repair the bearings?
