$5000 Left..what should i get done.
I plan on making it a 331 and i still need heads and cam but im goign to be installing all these parts myself and rebuilding it to a 331 myself so i need to know what can i get for 5,000 that would make the most power...i also need to get an AC delete kit, throttle boy and converter..

shoulda went ahead and got the 347. but if your sticking with the 331 then def. get a good set of heads/cam to match what your wanting the car for. if you have 5k after the heads and cam then i would suggest a supercharger of some sort or a turbo. but first make sure your tranny and rear end can hold the power. if they cant and you have to build those then id go with nitrious with the remaining money but that all depends on how you build your motor which power adder to go with.

oh ok, then i would get the 347 stroker and heads/cams. first off what are you wanting the car for? steet strip or a little of both? getting the right parts for what you want the car to do and where the car will spend most of its time is most important. if you are wanting to maximize power for the strip then i would suggest high compression, large cam, big runner heads, low gears...etc
for a street car you will want more under the curve power so go with a milder cam, smaller runner heads for more low to mid range. honestly im new to ford stuff so ill leave the brand specifics to the guys with expericance. however ive heard good things about the cantfield heads, trickflow and a few others. Cam wise lunati makes a good cam. hope i helped some.

more cubes= more power so i would defenetly get a 347 kit like i said earlier. you should be able to run a bigger cam/heads and be more streetable then the smaller cube motor which is why i think cubic inch is king on the street while still maintaining reliablity. look into cantfield and trickflow heads, 165 cc runners seems to be a common size. i have no idea on the valve sizes though i know a guy locally with a 347 and he has 2.08/1.60 valves and that thing is fast, not sure on what type heads he has though.

You can't just throw on a cam a set of heads and a stroker kit and call it good. There is alot more to it then that. If you get a 347 kit you have to have the piston skirts clearanced because 99% of them do not fit. Depending on your cam you have to get a valvetrain that will handle what the bumpstick dishes. Heads are very expensive. Power=Money. How much do you want to make?? I bet by the time you get done you won't have money left to do anything.
Heads - look into patriot freedom series
Stroker kit - CHP or fordstrokers.com
Cam - kinda hard to recommend when i don't know how much power you want

Call Jay at camshaftinnovation.com or Ed Curtis at flowtechinduction.com. Tell them what you want and they will tell you and sell exactly what you need. If your going to be spending 5k call people who do this for a living. They are both cam grinders but i know Ed will reccomend and sell you what you need. Or any other company that doe's this. Do not spend 5k with reccomendations you get from people here.

Someove above reccomended looking into the patriot heads. Erase that from your memory. Call the guys at the websites i reccomended and get them to put you a nice build together. These guy's are proven and it will be money WELL spent. Just tell them what you will using the car for and they will set you up. No sense in spending that much money just throwing parts together and hoping they will mesh.
