Default gt40 heads

i have a chance to get a set of gt40 heads off a 95 explorer..my question is this could be a cheap way to get a little more pep then using these stock heads what all needs to be done to make these work..does a machine shop have to port and polish them as well or can they be cleaned up and instalkled how they are..

thank you

simple answer yes ..they will be better than stock...long answer...u could probably get away with just bolting them on...but its best to have a shop check, clean them as well as if u get them p+p you will see better gains...

agreed

yes you can just put them on, but for the effort ? probably not worth it.
a little port work will double your gain, port and polish the exhaust, smooth out the intakes and deck them a bit + comp valve job

make sure you mill them at least .020 to bring compression up to cobra standards, or else you will lose compression. the cobra versions are the same, but are factory milled.
