thanks for all the info guys. i checked and cleaned the salt and pepper shakers but that wasnt the answer. i ran out of time this morning due to my black lab getting sick but this gives me points to check tonight after work. i do want to convert it to MAF soon but its just not in the cards right now. after all im a professional musician and a full time college student. its rough lol.

Clean or replace the PCV and the screen underneath it. Good time to check the PCV gasket too. Would double check the IAC valve and actuator. Sounds like for $20 you replaced the valve but not the actuator. Sounds obvious but clean the TB if you have not already.

alright guys so it was the TPS. i got a new one and it fixed everything. thanks a lot for all the info. the sad part is that the same night that the car was running correctly for the first time in my ownership, the hood latch gave out and the hood released at about 60mph. luckily the windshield did not break but it shattered the cowl grille and completely tore up the cowl panel. just kinda one of those things i guess. any idea if i can buy a new cowl panel or will i have to cut one off of a junk yard car? at least this gives me a good excuse to buy a new hood as well!

lol, i was just about to say the same with the tps, i just adjusted mine this moring, had same problems you did. everyting works now.good luck! lets us know if you need any help picking a hood ; )
