Ok, I have been doing some research and have narrowed down to some gt-40x heads, a trick flow StreetBurner intake manifold, bbk shorty headers and h pipe, a force II flomaster pipes, and the trick flow stage I cam. does anyone have a setup similar to that or any other suggestions?

Theres alot of stuff to move out of the way my advice is do it all at the same time h/c/i.

I have the tfs 1 in my 94 I wish I would have went with the steeda 19 you wont have idle problems with the steeda 19.

took me awhile to get the idle strait with the tfs 1. Its still not perfect but alteast it idles....

steeda designed that cam for our computers in our cars just to make it idle..trust me you dont want to have to fight that idle its a pain in the azz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't getting a tune fix the idle problems? Or am I just being dilusional?

The gears are a great idea. You will not see a 50 hp increase in what you plan on doing to the car, dont be mislead. With a cold air intake you'll be wasting money unless you get if for very cheap. I know you did not ask but i would not bother with the cam, it's not needed with stock heads. Intake would be ok since it's easy to install and you can alway's use it later when you build the engine. I cant knock all C&L MA's but my experience has not been good. Exhaust is always a good idea, and of course it will sound nice. Use the money you were going to spend on the cam and get some control arms and sub-frame connectors.
They are garbage. My bodies '03 Mach had one installed and it leaned him out really bad....16:1 at 3500rpms! Dynoed at only 240rwhp on a dynojet[:'(]. Catback, high flow catted h..throttle body spacer and no C&L and it put down 298rwhp on the same dyno a month later. The shop Apex Motorsports, which is one of the biggest Ford performance shops in the SF bay area now refuses to dyno or work on cars w/C&L's.

My car barely ran with a tfs1 cam before I got a tune on it

Now with just my canned baseline tune it runs fine

im running a comp cams XE276HR on 1.7 rockers (.544/.544 lift, 224°/230° duration @ .050) on my 347 with nothing more than a stock computer and C&L MAF

idles fine!

mine sure didn't, I had to crank the idle up to around 1500 rpm's just to keep it from stalling
