5.0 MAF question please fellow mustangers help
I have a 1995 5.0gt, I bought the car with it like this and im stumped on what the hell it is and what it does, on my maf sensor wires (where the harness plugs into the maf) there is a wire that jumps the two outside wires together, i cant figure out what it is and what it does if anyone can let me know what it is, it would be great.. HERE IS A PICTURE!! click imageshack
the wires that are tied together are the green and red also when i unplug it the car idles rough than smooths out, im stumped

spout connector, its basically a electronic vaccume advance. I think I dont know somone else will know much more than me but i know it is an advance

its not the spout connecter i have timed my 5.0 before and im aware of where the spount connector is and what it looks like this is sepreate from me spout connector

pull that ish off.. those are t-taps that splice into the factory wires. it looks like they crimped a resistor or diode of some sort in there. probably one of those ebay gain 25 hp gimics... get rid of that crap.

There is no resistor on it, its just spliced and the 2 wires are linkind together, what does it do?

Id buy a MAF pigtail and take that to the dealer to be professionally soldered and heat shrink.
That is a critical connector and too see something like this is just turning my stomach.

Are you getting any codes????
Go ahead and check for codes if you haven't
then,
Disconnect the jumper and try codes again...
The jumper is not a good thing... 12v as the MAF input signal... not good...

my cel used to come on sometimes than go right back off hasent done that in awhile maybe i should just take it off and heat strink the exposed wires?
