secondaries not opening up will make a big diffrence to. I used to beat my buddys camaro all the time by about 2-3 cars. We then figured his car's secondaris were not opening up and fixed it. after that we were a dead even match.

actually, the chambers aren't 64cc for GT40P's they're 59-61 which isn't much of a difference considering they were milled for straightness before i put em on, so i'm right about where the old one was. - cam is also medium which is why i went with it.. other then that i have no idea whats going on with this thing, but if gears are seriously this things problem....

Holly makes a vacuum spring assortment kit for the vacuum secondary carbs and they have one of the stiffest springs in it from the box. Put in a lighter spring and I bet they will open and make a good difference. The summit part number is HLY-20-13 and its 10.95.
Hope this helps.

Your problem is 3.08 gears while trying to race in 3rd at "around" 2000RPM........downshifting to 2nd woulda made a world of difference.

+1 on the downshifting. i go nowhere at 2000rpm in 3rd. drop that sucker into second to get a jump, then go back into 3rd. this was a driver error

Starting out at a higher rpm would make a difference. A tune would help as well.

If the foxbody has stock gears as well, then your 3.08 gears are just negating any advantage, so gears are not the problem.

LS1s pull hard with 2.73:1 gears.
